The Program of Chinese Public Policies at Nankai University is designed to prepare students to be the senior public management and policy personnel in the public sector by equipping them with a strategic foresight and a pioneering spirit as well as decision making and problem-solving capabilities.

Each Student in this program must complete 32 credits of course work (14 credits of compulsory courses, 18 credits of optional courses) and a thesis. Students spend two or three semesters taking required courses. In the second year, the student writes a thesis. While writing the exit paper, the student works closely with a professor who guides the project, helping the student gain in-depth knowledge about the chosen subject and experience in carrying out a research project.

Chinese Government and Politics, Policy Process in China, Reform of China, Public Policy Analysis, Chinese Public Financial Policy

Optional Courses:

Chinese Foreign Policy, Chinese Social Policy, Chinese Social Security Policy, Chinese Ethnic Policy, Chinese Agriculture Policy, Chinese Trade Policy, Chinese Public Health Policy, China's Religion Policy, Chinese Education Policy, Chinese Environment Policy, Chinese Land and Housing Policy, Chinese Labor Market Policy, Chinese Policy on Women and Children, Contemporary History of Chinese Politics, Chinese Policy on Science and Technology, Chinese Policy on Human Rights Protection, Research Method of Social Science, Chinese Policy on Regional Development, Chinese Language (Listening and Writing)

1. In the age bracket of 22-40
2. Be in good health
3. Holding Bachlor's Degree or equivelance
4. Holding certificate of HSK Level 6 or above
5. Passing the major test and oral Chinese interview held by the applied department
6. Willing to abide by chinese laws, regulations and the school discipline, and respect the chinese people, customs and habits

1.  Photocopy of valid passport
With photo, passport number &expiration date and name included.

2.  Passport-sized photo
A passport-sized photo taken recently of the applicant.

3.  Bachelor's degree diploma
Graduation certificate should be in Chinese or English.If not, it should be translated into Chinese or English and be notarized.

4.  Transcript of undergraduate school

5.  HSK Certificate (No need for English-taught program)
Level 3 or above

6.  Two recommendation letters
From professor,associate professor or equivalents.

7.  Study plan
Including study purpose, research interest and research plan in brief.
