Accounting (CGA)

Brief Introduction

Accounting Program (CGA Concentration), co-established by NBU and CGA in 2008 and supported by Ningbo municipal government, adopts a dual-certificate module of elite training and transplant CGA training courses into a Chinese accounting program. It is listed in the first group of municipal service-oriented key educational programs.

Certified General Accountants (CGA) Association of Canada, founded in 1908, is a professional accounting association acknowledged worldwide. CGA Ningbo Training (Examination) Center is the only authorized training body in mainland China. CGA certificate holders are to work for world-renowned accounting agencies, multinational corporations as well as financial institutes.

Teaching Objectives
The program aims at fostering globalized elite accounting professionals with solid accounting knowledge and skills, who are familiar with international accounting principles, and are qualified to work as accounting, auditing and financing posts at major accounting agencies, trans-national enterprises, listed companies, financial bodies, as well as institutions and government departments.

Courses
CGA program comprises 19 courses, of which:
1. 14 are listed within local accounting curriculum, organized and tested by NBU, including 9 core courses where original English CGA materials are adopted;
2. 5 qualification certified courses (taught by CGA in distance learning and tested world-wide) could be studied and tested in the later phase of college or after graduation.

Teaching Staff
1. With overseas education background.
2. Teaching resources share between NBU and UM or CGA.

Certificate
1. Graduation certificate and Bachelor degree conferred by NBU;
2. CGA Completing Letter upon finishing the 19 CGA courses; and CGA Qualification Certificate upon 3 years’ related working experience

Future Career
In commercial enterprises as accountant and financial affairs executive. 

1. High school graduate or above, or have passed Grade Twelve (10+2)/FSc./A Level/WAEC or equivalent.

2. Aged 18 or above and with a good health

3. No Chinese-citizen with foreign passport

1. Photocopy of valid passport
With photo, passport number &expiration date and name included.

2. Passport-sized photo
A passport-sized photo taken recently of the applicant.

3. Graduation certificate of high school
Graduation certificate should be in Chinese or English.If not, it should be translated into Chinese or English and be notarized.

4. Academic transcript of high school

5. English proficiency test certificate 
For example, IELTS or TOEFL, only for applicant whose native language is not English.
